The 15th Annual Aboriginal Secondary School Awards Banquet will play host to around 500 students including some 110 from Espanola High School.
Rainbow Board Principal of Indigenous Education, Kathy Dokis, says the dinner is organized by the Rainbow and Huron Superior boards in partnership with United Way and the S’Wakamok Native Friendship Centre.
She adds the annual event will honour students for various achievements ranging from academics to athletics, leadership and cultural recognition, nine categories in all, and students can be nominated in several categories.
Dokis adds graduates also receive special recognition.
It will be held Thursday evening at the Caruso Club in Sudbury with over 750 people expected to attend.
