Review of mileage and meal expenses by Blind River Council

Blind River council has given initial approval to an increase in meal and mileage expenses for town employees, but the proposed change is under review.

On Monday night, clerk-treasurer Kathryn Scott presented a report including recommending daily meal allowances be increased from $60 to $100 a day, as well as a ten cent increase for mileage, from 45 cents to 55 cents per kilometre.

Receipts would be required for reimbursement.

The proposal will now be reviewed by the town’s policy committee before coming back to council for final resolution.
