The municipal election is not until this fall, but some interested individuals are stepping forward to begin their campaigns.
Espanola mayor, Ron Piche, announced yesterday that he will be running for office once again.
Piche is out and about following heart surgery and says there is still plenty for him to do.
He is looking forward to running for office and invites anyone who wants to talk to him about specific issues or concerns, to email him or contact him through the municipal office.
Meanwhile David Wolff and Doug Steinke, both newcomers, have declared their intentions of running for mayor in the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers.
Long-time mayor, Leslie Gamble, has not indicated whether he will seek yet another term in office.
Individuals interested in running for council or school board has until the end of July to declare their intentions.
