The Town of Espanola is ready to wheel out is Espanola Commuter Cycle Plan.
Espanola EDO, Cheryl Kennelly stated in a press release, that the Wheels Out for Bike Month Community engagement is at the crux of Espanola’s Commuter Cycle Plan.
She says the people of Espanola will help build the framework to develop an active transportation network to improve cycling infrastructure, trail identification, signage and cycling amenities.
Bike month will kick off in Espanola with a public bike tour on Friday June 1st at both 1pm and/or 6pm with the consulting team from Share the Road Cycling Coalition & Liem Strategic Integration.
It will include a guided 90-minute, family friendly ride around Espanola.
The public bike tour will begin at the Town Office and end at the Recreation Complex for refreshments and an exchange on what participants view as the opportunities and challenges for cyclists in Espanola. Still with the story, Kennelly adds Oraclepoll will also begin a telephone survey the week of June 1st to garner community input for the plan.
The community is also invited to participate in an online survey.
The month will wrap up on June 27th with a Stakeholder Consultation Workshop and a Community Consultation Session.
