Fun Walk/Run for Community Living Awareness in the Books

Community Living Espanola hosted its first ever colour run, which was so successful, it will become an annual event.

CLE Executive Director, Louise Laplante, says there were 60 participants in the first Fun Walk/Run for Community Living Awareness on Saturday.

She adds 33 people participated in the five-kilometre event, 27 in the one-kilometre.

It was a winning family event for the Songhurst family.

Warren Songhurst was the winner of the one-kilometre event with Owen Songhurst in second and Riley Songhurst taking third.

Kim Perlin took first place in the five k followed up by Joel Bond in second and the third place finish going to Marc Lelievre.

Laplante added the event raised $1,700, which will go towards supporting individuals to access recreational and leisure opportunities in the community.
