The game started and not everyone had still found seats at a fundraiser for an Espanola youngster at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex last night.
Nine-year-old Blake Bond of Espanola has literally hundreds of people behind him in his fight against cancer.
While he is at the children’s hospital in Ottawa for treatment, his family members and supporters were hosting a fun game between the Espanola Express and Eagles alumni versus Team Blake.
Although the final tally of funds raised was not known by press time, Blake and family extends a huge thank you to the many supporters who came out to help.
The funds raised will go towards assisting the family with costs not covered by any program or government plan.
