The Stanley Cup is coming to Capreol

Have you ever wanted to hold the Stanley Cup?

The Capreol 100 Committee has announced that the Stanley Cup will be visiting the town of Capreol on April 1st, 100 years to the day since the community was officially incorporated as a town.

Committee member, Frank Mazzuca says the thank the Hockey Hall of Fame very much for accommodating them and everyone is invited to come out and see ‘Lord Stanley.’

Despite being a small community, Capreol has produced its share of professional hockey players including Doug “Diesel” Mohns, Fred Boimistruck, Floyd Thompson, Jim Mayer, Joffre Desilets, Jim Farelli and the Horeck brothers; Peter, John and Danny.

Capreol is also home to former World Hockey Association referee Ray Thomas.

The Stanley Cup and a community skate will be taking place at the Capreol Arena between 10:00am and 3:00pm.
