Anishinabek Nation brings treaty rights to the forefront

Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee will welcome First Nations, citizens, government, industry and academia to the 2018 Lands and Resources Forum in North Bay.

The three-day event, which begins today, focuses on treaty rights as they affect Lands and Resources.

A number of ministries will also be represented, and there will also be presentations on the environment and energy independence, capped off with an Anishinabek Nation Caucus on Thursday.

The event brings together the 40-member First Nations including Sagamok, Whitefish River and Serpent River, as well as the Manitoulin Island reserves.
