Anishinabek Nation and Ontario sign Letter of Commitment

A letter of commitment focusing on climate change has been signed by Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief, Patrick Madahbee.

Madahbee, who hails from Manitoulin Island, and Chris Ballard, Ontario Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, met yesterday to make a commitment to work together on environmental priorities including the Great Lakes, clean drinking water and climate change.

The commitment includes meeting yearly, reviewing priorities, exchanging ideas and working towards improving the climate.

The Anishinabek Nation is a political advocate for 40-member communities including the North Shore corridor and Manitoulin.
