Espanola Legion presents cheque for patient lifts

A Manitoulin Island facility is receiving some financial support from the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion to assist in the purchase of hospital equipment.

Wendy Gauthier, a representative of the Manitoulin Centennial Manor Board of Management was presented with a $1,000 cheque from Branch #39 President, Gary MacPherson and Dan Kryzanowski , the chair of the Poppy Committee, last week.

Gauthier says four veterans and eight spouses of veterans live at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor and at any given time 10-15 % of the residents are from the Massey-Espanola area.

Gauthier thanked the legion for the support, which will go towards purchasing patient lifts for the nursing home.
