Fundraiser to assist MSS high school student needing kidney

Manitoulin Secondary school and their hockey teams are hosting games today to raise funds for a fellow students who needs a kidney transplant.

Organizer, Susan Whynott, says Connor Croft played for the school’s Mustangs, but had to move down south to be closer to his kidney specialist.

The teams are playing today at the Little Current Recreation Centre.

The boys will take on Lockerby at 7pm, followed by the girls at 8:30pm against Espanola.

Whynott adds not only is it a fundraiser, it is also a campaign to raise awareness of the Living Kidney Donor Program, which seems to be Croft’s best hope of finding a viable kidney.
