Area miners from Coleman Mine will have to wait a little longer to get back to work.
Mining company Vale says the Coleman Mine near Levack is expected to be back in production in mid-February, after being shut down last year for repairs.
According to a news release, the company originally said the repairs would be done completely by December
The release also stated based on recent inspections, the mine won’t re-open until mid-February.

The company announced in mid-November, it was suspending work at the mine, due to critical repair work to the shaft’s ventilation compartment.
For employees whom work is not available, the company is topping up EI benefits through a supplemental unemployment benefits plan.
