News Funding To Study Enhancing Cruise Ship Experience SHARE ON: Rosalind Russell, staff Friday, Jan. 12th, 2018 Photo supplied Enhancing the cruise ship experience on the Great Lakes, including Manitoulin Island will be part of a study. The Cruise Ship Industry Group received a $250,000 grant last month from the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. The grant will be used to support Ontario’s Great Lakes cruising industry, including the development of an Ontario cruise ship industry business case. The group is made up of representatives from several Ontario port communities including Little Current. The funds will be used to identify the current state and future prospects of the industry, create a strategy to guide the development of it and identify infrastructure improvements to ports and port attractions.
