Inquest into the Death of Paul Marcel Rochette (aka Perreault)

An inquest has been called into the death of a Vale smelter worker.

Regional coroner, Dr. David Cameron says an inquest will be held into the death of Paul Marcel Rochette (aka Perreault) of Sudbury.

Rochette, 36, died on April 6, 2014 while working at the Copper Cliff Smelter Complex.

A second worker, who has not been named, recovered from his injuries.

Rochette and the 28-year-old worker were injured in an area where a machine crushes hardened metal.

An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act and will examine the circumstances surrounding his death.

The jury can make recommendations to prevent similar deaths.

It will be held at the Sudbury court house on Monday, January 22nd and is expected to last five days.
