It will be a happy new year for staff at the Sudbury Counselling Centre.

Members of United Steelworkers Local 2020 ended a 10-week strike by ratifying a new three-year collective agreement.

The two sides reached the deal on December 20nd after a marathon 13 hours of bargaining.

Staff will return to work in January offering counselling and psychotherapy, mental health counselling and more.

The 12 women can go back to work in January with their heads held high, said Lynne Descary, USW Staff representative.

Descary says the new three-year deal includes 2% annual wage increases.
