Impaired Driving Causing Death

A Huntsville man is facing several charges including impaired driving causing death.

On Wednesday at 9:00pm, North Bay OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision in North Bay.

A passenger vehicle that was southbound on Seymour was struck by a pick-up truck that was traveling westbound on Hwy 11/17.

When police arrived, witnesses advised that the driver of the pickup truck had left the scene on foot, but he was found shortly thereafter.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, Trevor Wright, 36, Of McVey/Braeside Township, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Joseph Edward Fitzgerald, 28, of Huntsville has been charged impaired driving causing death, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, assault with intent to resist arrest and breach of probation.

He appeared in bail court yesterday.
