NOJHL WRAPUP

A night after losing on home ice to the Blind River Beavers, the Elliot Lake Wildcats repaid the favour Saturday evening by skating to a 2-1 road decision in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at the Blind River Community Centre.

The night before, the Beavers rallied from a two-goal third period deficit by striking for four unanswered markers late to defeat the Elliot Lake Wildcats 4-2 on Friday at Centennial Arena.

A double overtime goal off an end-to-end rush was the game-winner as the Beavers edged the Rayside-Balfour Canadians 3-2 Sunday evening in a hard-fought contest at Chelmsford Arena.

The Soo Thunderbirds rode the strength of a four-goal first period to win their fourth straight game Sunday afternoon as they eventually held on for a 5-3 victory over the Espanola Express at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
