Matty Mayhew turned aside all 27 shots he faced to record his first Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League shutout as the Rayside-Balfour Canadians blanked the Elliot Lake Wildcats 3-0 Thursday at Chelmsford Arena.
There is plenty of weekend action ahead.
The Wildcats will take on the Blind River Beavers tonight at 7:30 pm at Centennial Arena, then again on home ice on Sunday at 7pm against the Soo Eagles.
The Espanola Express will play the Manitoulin Panthers Alumni in Little Current tonight at 7 pm, then on Saturday they take on the Beavers in Espanola at 7:30 pm.
