Poll finds bribe trial hurts Liberals

Even though two high profile Liberals were acquitted in the Sudbury bribe trial, a Toronto-based polling firm has found the trial hurt the party.   Forum Research says 39 percent of respondents are less likely to vote Liberal in next year’s election because of the trial.  Only 16 percent said they would vote for the party because of the outcome while a third said the trial wouldn’t change their vote.  The president of Forum Research says that although the trial turned out favourably for the Liberals, there was damage to the party.  Doctor Lorne Bozinoff adds the longer the story stays in the news, the worse it will be for the Liberals.
