Espanola Festivals a huge success

Hundreds took in the various events and the venues were filled to capacity at the annual Espanola Pumpkin and Fibre Arts Festival held this weekend.

The weekend included a sold out fashion show Saturday night, displays of all kinds of fibre arts, papermaking and a pumpkin weigh-in contest with a winner: Perry Kirkbride of Sudbury at 250 pounds.

The Carver Kings of HGTV fame also designed a totem pole for permanent display at Clear Lake.

They are staying in Espanola until Wednesday at Espanola Home Hardware to complete commissioned work.

The Colours of Hope 5 K had 75 participants who raised $7,500 for cancer research on Sunday.
