It was not a great weekend for local area Northern Ontario Junior A Hockey teams.
The Kirkland Lake Gold Miners nipped the Espanola Express 4-3 Friday and the Powassan Voodoos won a 6-5 decision on Saturday, both games on home ice for the Express.
It was also a double loss for the Elliot Lake Wildcats on home ice.
The Rayside-Balfour Canadians narrowly beat the Wildcats 8-7 Friday and the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners blanked the Wildcats 3-0 on Saturday.
Only one game for Blind River, a narrow loss of 3-2 against the Soo Eagles at the Blind River Centre.
