Throughout the week, Espanola and Manitoulin Island schools will take part in a series of challenges and events including Waste Audit Wednesday, No Plastics Thursday and Litterless Lunch Friday.
As part of Rainbow District School Board’s monthly environmental initiatives, Rainbow Schools will participate in Waste Reduction Week all this week until October 20th.
It builds awareness about responsible consumption, choosing more environmentally responsible products/services, and promotes diverting waste while conserving natural resources.
AB Ellis Public and Espanola High in Espanola, S. Geiger in Massey, as well as Manitoulin Secondary and several elementary schools on the Island will take part.
