Rainbow District School Board will host its ninth symposium aimed at creating and enhancing school-based supports for students who are lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, questioning and two-spirited.
The Embrace Diversity: Free to Be Me Conference will take place tomorrow all day at the Lexington Hotel and Conference Centre in Sudbury.
The day’s events will kick-off with a keynote address from Sudbury native Brock McGillis.
The former OHL goalie became the first professional hockey player to publicly come out as a gay man.
McGillis has quickly become an influential advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
Throughout the day, students will take part in a variety of workshops from Being an Ally, Here I Am: The to Growth Mindset and Resilience, Healthy Sexuality, and Law and Rights.
