Many NOSM graduates choose to practice in Northern Ontario
About 190,000 residents in Northern Ontario have better access to medical care. It’s the result of the presence of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. The school says since 2011, about 160 people who attended the school have graduated and put up a “Doctor-Is-In” sign in the north. Despite the success, the school says there’s still a lot of work to do because some communities still struggle to keep their medical services.
