OPP Search for Missing Person

The search for a missing Toronto man continues in the waters off Parry Sound..

Last Thursday at around 1:30 PM, West Parry Sound OPP received a call about a missing person near Trim Tree Island on the waters of Georgian Bay.

The investigation has revealed Owen Sands, 53, of Toronto was reported missing by family members.

Sands was last seen travelling in his pontoon boat near Shawanaga Inlet on the waters of Georgian Bay around noon the day before. The pontoon boat was found on Friday near Trim Tree Island by family members. Sands is described as 5’9″, 134lbs., thin build, Caucasian, short greying blonde hair, with blue eyes. Police and family are concerned for his well-being. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority. The search continues.
