Espanola will honour one of its most devoted volunteers this week.
Espanola has lost one of its most active volunteers, Helen Noonan (NOON-NUN).
She passed away last Wednesday.
Not only was she a long-time member of the Espanola Royal Purple, 43 years of service, she also served as the first female Exalted Ruler of the Elks of Canada.
Noonan also volunteered for over 30 years with the Eastern Star.
Her memorial service is this Thursday, October 5th at 11:00 AM at the United Church.
The interment of her ashes in the Espanola Cemetery will be followed by a reception and luncheon at the Espanola Elks.
She was 74.
