Laurentian University strike

Professors at Laurentian University are on strike resulting in the cancellation of classes.

A mediator met with both sides this week but the session failed to produce an agreement.

Union president Jim Ketchen says one issue is the faculty wanting more input on what courses Laurentian offers but management has refused.

The strike affects about six thousand students.
