Espanola Therapeutic Park half way there

A major construction project at the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre has reached the half way point in fundraising.

The hospital foundation announced nearly a year ago that there were plans in the work to build an outdoor, enclosed, safe space for residents of the long-term residents in the facility.

Foundation co-ordinator, Terri Noble, says the plans are in place to build the park in the Spring of 2018.

It’s estimated the park will cost around $150,000 to construct.
Noble adds they have reached the half-way mark, and there are other fundraisers around the corner.

The next one will be part of the Espanola Fibre Arts Festival.
They will be selling costume and fine jewellery at the I Made It Myself Fashion Show, followed by The Moose 99.3 FM CJJM Charity Radiothon set for December 8th.

The Park has been designed by Jennifer Harvey, Landscape Architect and the construction will be overseen by Rick Leclair who has volunteered his time and know-how to the project.

Volunteers will be needed for construction and any donations of products or time from local companies would be much appreciated.

To donate or volunteer, contact Terri Noble at 869-1420.
