A local area couple had a big reason to celebrate this week- 70 years of wedded bliss.
Irwin and Orpha (Sloss) Duxbury of Espanola celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Monday, September 11th, 2017.
Originally from Manitoulin Island, the two moved into the Queensway Place Assisted Living complex in Espanola this past June.
Friends and family gathered there for the afternoon tea held to celebrate the milestone.
Both raised on Manitoulin Island, Irwin had stints as a carpenter and hydro worker before working with the Ministry of Transportation for some 30 years.
Orpha was a stay at home mother in Tekhummah.
The two had one son and four daughters, and are blessed with seven grand-children and eight great grand-children.
Both spry and healthy, they shared the secret of their marriage; you have to give and take.
