Third Annual Espanola Atv Run Raises Over $6,000

The Third Annual Espanola Fire Association ATV Poker Run where local firefighters, their families, friends and supporters come together to raise funds for the cause was a rip-roaring, muddy, happy affair.

One of the co-organizers, Trevor McVey says they had 160 participants and raised over $6,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

McVey says that is over double what they collected last year.

The participants atved from Espanola to House Lake and back on Saturday, and capped off the day with a dinner at the Elks hall.

Mc Vey says a huge thank you has to go out to the helpers for volunteering to help run the event and the Elks for donating the venue.

Of note, the total money raised over three years now exceeds $12,000.
