Swimming Advisory Issued

A swimming advisory has been issued for both Lakeside Park and Sellers Park in Blind River.

Algoma Public Health says water samples taken on August 22nd exceeded the Ministry of Health’s bacteriological guidelines for swimming and bathing. Public health says it is unsafe to swim at beaches with increased levels of bacteria. Swimming in water with high levels of E. coli can cause skin, eye, nose and throat infections, as well as stomach illness.

APH says sample results return to safe parameters, the advisory will be lifted.
