Students at St. Bernadette Catholic School are now enjoying new gym equipment after winning this year’s Algoma Public Health’s BrightBites contest.
This contest, launched in the fall, was to help promote BrightBites which is a free online program that helps schools boost their nutrition by earning badges.
The St. Bernadette student council led their school in claiming the most badge points in the Algoma district by promoting water, fruits and vegetables, growing their own vegetables and implementing healthier fundraising and student rewards.
Algoma Public Health says it’s important to provide students with wholesome, nutritious foods in a school setting.
