As Moose News reported earlier, a deal has been struck to ensure the Cup and Saucer trail on Manitoulin can re-open for the summer. That deal is between NEMI and the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy which owns the land the new trail will cross.  The work includes creating a new access off Highway 540 and then building 1,000 metres of a new trail and a parking area.  The proposed route eventually links up to the existing trail. It’s hoped that donations can pay for the work and for more information on how to help financially call NEMI at 368-3500.   The popular hiking trail was in danger of closing because part of it goes through private land and the owner can no longer afford to keep it open.
