The Northeastern Cancer Centre Receives Top Grades

Northeastern Ontario is tops in the province for cancer care.

According to Health Sciences North, the area had more positive results than any other in breast screening for women ages 50 to 72, and achieved a top-five status in the province for post-surgery recovery. The best results for providing access to radiation treatment were also that of Northeastern Ontario.

The Northeast Cancer Centre also received a high grade for its screening process, which involves one screening per month for a symptom check-up.

Northern Cancer Centre Vice President Mark Hartman says they are proud of their results to this point, and they are looking forward to continuing to improve in these areas.
