The Espanola Leaf and Yard Waste Collection is Extending

The Town of Espanola is extending its leaf and yard waste collection program.

The program is extending to June 1st to create more opportunities for residents to clean up their properties. The public works department says this is to prepare everyone for new regulations under the Water Free Ontario Act coming in late 2017, which prohibits all yard waste from entering landfills.

The unstaffed collection site near the ski hill will be open for the public to drop off their yard waste in paper bags. If you bring plastic bags, you will have to empty them at the site and not leave any plastic behin
