Health Unit Warns of Tainted Street Drugs

Reports of tainted street drugs in Northern Ontario have urged the Sudbury and District Health Unit to send out a warning on the risks associated with using street drugs.

The health unit says it is receiving reports that street drugs are being cut with harmful amounts of other substances such as fentanyl. Health officers say even small amounts of drugs like fentanyl can be deadly.

The health unit is urging you to never use drugs alone and if anything feels wrong, to call 9-1-1 immediately. It also recommends if you do use street drugs you should have a naloxone kit, or overdose kit, on hand in case of an emergency.
