The sex-related trial of 45-year-old Paul McColeman of Espanola is nearing an end. The crown and defense are expected to make final submissions to the judge beginning May 1st. McColeman faced numerous charges including luring children, sexual exploitation and indecent exposure involving young boys. The incidents are alleged to have taken place from 2006 to 2014. During the trial, the crown claimed McColeman used online aliases to solicit favours from Espanola boys in return for cash, drugs or booze. McColeman also took the stand and told the court he never had sex with any of the boys and never met or heard of some of them.
