A combination of several factors have forced the OPP to temporarily suspend their search for a snowmobiler who went into the St. Mary’s River in Sault Ste. Marie. Police have not been able to deploy a dive team because the current is too strong and ice is piled up after it broke apart. Police also add the ice is unstable in the search area plus there’s open water. They say all this is creating unfavourable conditions. They’re going to wait until conditions improve before resuming their search. The snowmobiler went in the water on Sunday.
