Algoma Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha hopes Ontarians aren’t fooled by the Wynne Liberal hydro cuts. Mantha agrees there will be short term relief with the 25 percent cut. However, he points out, the Liberals are subsidizing the cut with more borrowing which will cost us billions of dollars in interest. Mantha says the NDP suggested constructive changes to Hydro that can really bring down rates. But he says unless it’s their own idea, the Liberals won’t accept suggestions from others except under one condition and that’s if it benefits the Liberal party. Mantha repeated the NDP proposal to cut hydro by 30 percent and it won’t cost us extra money.
