A report on school rankings finds that four of the top 10 high schools with the fastest improvements are in Northeastern Ontario. Two are Catholic schools in Sudbury and Chelmsford and the other two are public schools in North Bay and Geraldton. The Fraser Institute graded 740 Anglophone and Francophone high schools across Ontario in its annual report. The institute says year after year, schools serving students with a diverse set of needs find ways to improve despite the obstacles they face. Fraser says this dispels the excuse that other students can’t improve because of the communities they’re in. The annual report also finds that none of the top 10 schools are from Toronto or the GTA.
