Manitoulin residents have a chance this Friday to learn more about the challenges that long-term care homes face. The Manitoulin Lodge Senior Home in Gore Bay is holding an open house to talk about its services and the Better Seniors Care Campaign. The campaign is making the case for more specialized staffing and resources so long-term care homes can do a better job of looking after seniors. The campaign is also highlighting the need for more beds, more money to renew older homes and funding that keeps pace with inflation. The open house is this Friday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Algoma Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha will also be at the event.
