Hughes calls for national strategy on eating disorders

A Northern Ontario federal New Democrat is lobbying for a national strategy to stamp out eating disorders.  Carol Hughes says eating disorders are the deadliest of mental illnesses yet they are poorly treated, misunderstood and underfunded.  But the MP for Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing is taking steps to reverse that by re-introducing a motion to fight this issue on a national scale.  She’s hopeful MP’s get behind her motion.  Statistics show that eating disorders are twelve times more likely to cause death than any other mental illness.
