When it comes to the Top 25 Growth Cities in Canada, Elliot Lake comes in at 25th. That’s according to U-Haul which measured the number of one-way trips its customers made to a city as opposed to those leaving. Mayor Dan Marchisella believes a number of factors account for Elliot Lake’s high showing including the addition of the Pearson Plaza. He says more investors have started to look at Elliot Lake and the community has seen the addition of some new businesses. Marchisella also says another draw for the city is the ongoing tours Retirement Living has for seniors considering Elliot Lake as their new home.
