Pele still committed to rare earth processing centre

The president of Pele Mountain in Elliot Lake believes even though the price of rare earth elements is way down, we still need new supply sources.  China supplies well over 90 percent of the world’s rare earth elements.  But Al Shefsky says we could still run into supply disruptions and that possibility may have grown with Donald Trump now the U.S. president.  Shefsky says it’s for reasons like this that we need a supply chain of rare earth elements outside of China even though the low price has turned off investors from starting new operations.  For years Shefsky has been pushing for a rare earth processing centre in Elliot Lake and he remains committed to the project.
