Canadore College calling for meeting with premier over funding issues

Canadore is adding its voice to the call for an urgent meeting between Ontario’s 24 colleges and Premier Kathleen Wynne.

They want to discuss a funding issue that could see a $1.9 billion shortfall for the schools by 2024-2025.

Canadore’s President & CEO George Burton says they’re doing everything they can to cope with the funding shortfalls but that a comprehensive solution needs to be found.

Funding for colleges has decreased each year since 2007.

Representatives from the schools will be meeting with Advanced Education and Skills Development Minister Deb Matthews in February.
