Fedeli says Premier must be embarrassed over energy question to Prime Minister

The MPP for Nipissing says Premier Kathleeen Wynne must be embarrassed.  Vic Fedeli was reacting to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau`s cross country tour and how, while in Peterborough, a woman asked for help on coping with sky-high electricity prices.  Trudeau said he couldn`t do anything because hydro is a provincial jurisdiction.  Fedeli says the woman asking for help tells a powerful story.  He says the story highlights have desperate some people have become and they`re at the point where they`re turning to the Prime Minister for help.  Fedeli says the Premier continues to make the cost of living in Ontario unbearable with her Green Energy programs.

Fedeli also hinted at how a P.C. government might cope with rising electricity costs.  Fedeli has repeatedly said stop signing new contracts for power we don`t need because we sell the excess to the U. S. or Quebec at a loss.  Fedeli says the Tories are now working on how to use the existing contracts in a way that helps Ontario.   He says the idea still needs to be fleshed out but the aim is to give the power to Ontario businesses at affordable prices instead of selling it to the Americans or Quebec.   The Tory finance critic says energy experts in the party are now developing a platform on how Ontario can benefit from the surplus power it produces.
