Heat wave enters its second day

The heat wave continues in the area today, and the heat warning is still in effect. Environment Canada says the humidex values reaching near 40 are expected. There is a chance of rain or thunderstorms today, which may temporary relief. However, the hot spell is expected to break tomorrow.

Health risks in the extreme heat are greatest for infants, anyone with chronic illness, and those who don’t have access to air conditioning. Signs of heat illness include dizziness, nausea, rapid breathing, and extreme thirst.
