Elliot Lake may have been forced to cancel its fishing derby, but not Wiki. The Wekwemikong Derby will go ahead as planned this Saturday. Elliot Lake can’t hold its derby because the ice on Horne Lake is too dangerous. But the Wiki derby takes place at Bayside Resort where the ice is a foot thick. And to ensure added safety, organizers are not allowing ATV’s or snowmobiles near the fishing holes. The Wiki derby runs from 8:00am to noon.
