Pearson Plaza work progressing well

Work is progressing quickly at the Pearson Plaza in Elliot Lake.  Project manager William Elliott says with the Foodland fully enclosed and interior work ongoing, the focus is shifting to the plaza’s other businesses.  Elliott told city council this next part of the project will be carried out in three phases.

He says workers will first work on the food court, washrooms and the Turner Department Store.  The second phase involves work on the library and common area before final work begins on Dollarama.   In each instance the concrete floor will be poured before moving onto the next phase.  Elliott says the goal is to have the enclosures done by the end of March and all the work finished by the end of June.

Elliott also confirmed that Subway will be in the food court.  He adds there’s space for another vendor at the food court and interested entrepreneurs should call him.  As for Foodland, the unofficial opening date remains sometime in April with the other outlets opening during early summer.
