Elliot Lake’s fishing derby is about two weeks away. Mayor Dan Marchisella says the annual event provides a nice little economic shot in the arm for several hours of activity. And the mayor adds the event attracts a good crop of anglers. He says this a group of hard core anglers who go from derby to derby. Marchisella says they will go the fishing derby in Wiki, Elliot Lake and Wawa and use the events as their weekend getaways. The derby goes February 20th.
